The architect Zaha Hadid grew up in Baghdad, Iraq, surrounded by music. She was a curious and confident child, who designed her own modernist bedroom at only nine years old. When she was studying at University in Beirut, her professor described her as the most outstanding pupil they had ever met. She founded her own architectural firm and designed some of the most outstanding buildings in the world, including the
Serpentine Sackler Gallery in Hyde Park, and the
London Aquatics Centre for the 2012 Olympics. This book includes a biographical timeline with historical photos and a detailed profile of the architect's life.
