I'm Erin Plant, the designer and creator of all things Too Many Pjs. I worked as a textile designer in the London fashion industry for over 10 years giving me a wealth of experience in textile design and sewing techniques. When having my first child I created a sensory play mat for my son with various fabrics I had designed myself. Friends wanted one too so I started making them to sell.
The play mats evolved into toys, bedding, and interior decor as well. All of the toys I create utilise textural fabrics to stimulate a baby's senses, and contribute to their cognitive and fine motor skill development. I also incorporate trend inspired colours and nursery themes which are intended to compliment the modern home rather than clash with it. I design the printed bedding textiles and interior decor to go along with these themes.
I believe in living a sustainable lifestyle and want to keep the waste and environmental damage caused by the textile industry to a minimum. I do this by using only GOTS certified organic fabrics and sustainable materials. All of the inks used on the textiles are eco-friendly pigment inks that are also non toxic. The toys and play mats are then filled with a wadding material made from recycled plastic bottles. I aim to have a zero waste company and utilise even the smallest patches of fabric in the sensory blocks and other toys. But most importantly, I hope that your family will enjoy the products I make for years to come and they will be passed down through generations.
